Our Heritage: A Story of Hard Work and Growth
Karreman Quarries began its journey in 1970 when two brothers started hiring trucks and equipment to the Redland Shire Council during the day and transporting produce to the Brisbane market at night. In 1974, they secured a contract to cart mineral sand for AMA on North Stradbroke Island, marking their first major step into the industry. In 1976, they purchased the quarry on West Mount Cotton Road from Tom and Betty Blunt, a pivotal moment that laid the foundation for the company’s future.
The years that followed were marked by hard work, long hours, and significant sacrifices, which led to the growth of Karreman Quarries into the successful, family-owned, and operated business it is today. With a focus on quality, efficiency, and community, Karreman Quarries has earned its reputation as a trusted provider of high-quality quarry materials for Brisbane and South East Queensland.

Our Resources and Capabilities
Karreman Quarries employs over 150 skilled workers, including quarry operators, truck drivers, maintenance technicians, and quality control specialists, each contributing to the production of top-quality road base products for Queensland’s southeast. We operate Australia’s largest privately owned fleet of Mack Trucks, equipped with quad-axle trailers, as well as a full range of heavy machinery to mine and develop the resources needed for the region’s growth. Our capability to deliver efficiently and reliably is a key factor in our long-standing success.
Fleet and Equipment
From humble beginnings, our transport fleet has grown substantially. Today, Karreman Quarries operates around 120 Mack Trucks, delivering quarry products throughout South East Queensland from our Mount Cotton Quarry. In celebration of our journey, we are about to take delivery of our 600th Mack Truck, a milestone that reflects our continued growth and commitment to the industry. In 1997, Karreman Quarries expanded operations into the Brisbane Valley Region, leveraging resources in Harlin to supply rock and sand to the area. Our commitment to growth and quality continues, with an eye toward the future of the Harlin division.
